On 27 of April 2017, the Ministry of Economy held an information event to promote the Operational Programme "Innovation and Competitiveness" 2014-2020 (OPIC). The organizer of the event is the Knowledgeable Society Foundation, and the contracting authority is the Managing Authority of OPIC - General Directorate "European Funds for Competitiveness". It took place at the University of finance, business and entrepreneurship (VUZF) with the kind support of the Rector and the academic community. The event was attended by representatives of project beneficiaries, business and academic community. The event was opened by Teodor Sedlarski, Minister of Economy and Prof. Gregory Vazov, Rector of VUZF.
Ivelina Peneva, Chief Directorate of the European Funds for Competitiveness Directorate at the Ministry of Economy, presented to the audience the opportunities for funding under the Operational Programme "Innovation and Competitiveness" 2014-2020 and the Indicative Annual Work Programme for 2017 as well as the project for Guidelines for Application under the procedure "Development of Innovations by Existing Enterprises".
The event was also visited by Kalin Marinov: Deputy Chief Director at General Directorate of European Funds for Competitiveness at the Ministry of Economy, Kamen Slavov: Head of "Financial Instruments" Unit, Fund Manager of Financial Instruments in Bulgaria EAD, and Assoc. Prof. Evgeni Evgeniev, Deputy Rector of VUZF, who made a presentation of the university and the newly introduced specialty, focused on innovation and technological commercialization.
The event was attended by an increased student interest in the University of finance, business and entrepreneurship (VUZF)
